The earth has evolved, from the Big Bang to where we are now. And humanity is also still developing. In Point Cloud, we see a man with knowledge and conviction. But he has doubts. In an attempt to find the truth, he allows himself to be swallowed up by his self-created world, his little universe, and he pulls us in as well. Joeri Dubbe toys with credibility in this installation and up-ends our perspective on life.

The up and coming young choreographer Joeri Dubbi received the Nederlandse Dansdagen Maastricht prize last year. As part of that prize, his latest production, Point Cloud, will premiere at the festival this year. Point Cloud is an installation of dance, images, sound and compact extraordinary scenery.


NEDERLANDS


De aarde is geëvolueerd, van de Big Bang tot waar we nu zijn. Ook de mens is steeds in ontwikkeling. In Point Cloud zien we een man met kennis en overtuigingen. Maar hij twijfelt. In een poging de waarheid te vinden, wordt hij opgeslokt in zijn eigen vormgegeven wereld en trekt hij ons zijn kleine universum in. In deze installatie speelt Joeri Dubbe een spel met geloofwaardigheid en kantelt daarmee ons perspectief op het leven.

Joeri Dubbe won, als aanstormend choreograaf, vorig jaar de Prijs van de Nederlandse Dansdagen Maastricht. Als onderdeel van de prijs gaat daarom zijn nieuwste productie Point Cloud tijdens de komende editie van de Nederlandse Dansdagen in première. Point Cloud is een installatie met dans, beeld en geluid, in een bijzonder, compact decor. Daarnaast won Joeri de BNG Nieuwe Theatermakersprijs 2012!

Op zaterdag 6 oktober zijn er in het Theater aan het Vrijthof een aantal voorproefjes van deze voorstelling te zien.
